A Day in the Pool and a Sister!

A few weeks ago I bought a small plastic pool (best $8 spent ever) for Bo to play in on our deck. He LOVES taking baths so I figured he would like a pool too. I was right. The pool is the right height that he can get in and out of it by himself, which he does a lot. He loves to splash around and play with his toys. His favorite pool toy by far is a giant plastic cup.

We took him swimming last summer, but he was so little that he got cold really fast and him in the pool lasted about 5-10 mins. This year has been another story. That water may be cold, but he's still going to get in! If the water is cold he kind of squats in the water awhile to get used to it before sitting down. He also thinks it's very funny when the dogs drink out of his pool and even funnier when they stand still long enough for him to splash them.

"What? I'm just standing in my pool!"

The famous muscles.
To the other side.
Making sure everyone see's how strong.

Just a side note on the last 3 pictures. We didn't ask Bo to show his muscles. He just wanted to show us how strong he is. He has started doing this at restaurants too to get peoples attention. He will show them muscles until they notice him and say something about it.

If you haven't heard we found out that we are having a girl! After picking my jaw up off the floor (thought for sure I was having a boy) we are super excited. The crazy garage sale-ing has commenced.

Happy Birthday Baby!

We had a ton of fun throwing Bo's first birthday party! We had it at the gazebo at Lion's Park which was able to fit everyone (unlike our house). Thank you to all who came - we had a blast!

It was a cowboy theme - can you tell?

Cousins eating. I think they both just want to play.

Papa giving Mason a hotdog.

Naomi chowing down. Hotdogs were popular!

First present!

Distracted by the cousins.

Bath toys from Naomi!

So excited about his xylophone!

Thomas!

Bo's first drum "set".

A book with baby animals. I have a feeling this will be a favorite.

Cake!

First taste - one of only two.

It's more fun to play in the cake than eat it.

The cake and Bo after. Bo was saying he was all done.

Easter!

Last year we spent Easter in the hospital since it was the day after Bo was born. This year was another milestone Easter with Bo having a ton of fun at THREE Easter egg hunts. We started the weekend off on Saturday at our church's egg hunt.
Bo looking around at all the candy. He didn't know what to do at first.

Crawling towards some candy.

He got the hang of it. His favorite to pick up were these marshmallow sticks. You can see his basket if full of them!

We started off Easter morning at church. I didn't have a chance to get a picture of Bo in his shirt, vest, and tie, but trust me, he was CUTE! After church we headed over to my parent's house. Bo was the only one young enough to hunt eggs. He had a blast!
Putting an egg in his basket.

His favorite eggs were the ones that rattled.

"Look what I found!"

After eating lunch and having an egg hunt at my parent's, we went to David's parents house to end the day. The boys spent the afternoon driving, riding, and pushing the Jeep. Mason and Henry took turns driving and Bo had a good time riding.

Buckling up for safety!

Bo LOVED riding!

Fun on the Deck

We've been enjoying the warm weather and our new deck a lot lately. Bo loves chasing bubbles and throwing his football. He's tried to go down the deck steps head first only a couple of times and only one splinter in his foot (which he didn't even notice). He's not a fan of crawling in the grass (we have to watch out for dog land mines too), but won't walk, so we don't venture into the grass much. I'm looking forward to see how he does at the Easter egg hunts coming up!

That's A Big Belly!

Here is just a comparison between this pregnancy and when I was pregnant with Bo. My stomach seems so huge already! I don't like this stage though because I just look pudgy.
This is 13 weeks with #2. Yikes!

This was 18 weeks with Bo.

A Little Off the Top and a Fun Parade

Bo has had quite a bit of hair since he was born and the last few months I have been trimming it around his ears. Recently I tried to do the top, bangs, and back. It didn't turn out horrible, but I knew he needed a real haircut soon. His hair was so puffy and all over the place and his bangs were inching to his eyes. So on Friday David and I took him to David's barber. At first I wanted him to get a haircut just like Daddy's, but I chickened out and he just got a little off the top. Daddy went first and Bo watched the whole thing, then it was his turn. He just sat there and let him cut his hair! Here are some highlights.

Before the haircut. "I don't know about this." Notice the crazy hair.

"This is kinda fun. I'm up high with a big black blanket on me!"

Just relaxing

Getting the sides trimmed.

"Hmmm, is that MY hair?"

"Hey! What are you doing?"

A view from the back.

So big!

The after picture. Same haircut, just less hair.

We decided to head downtown to see the St. Patrick's Day Parade because Bo hadn't been to a parade since August and even though he was really little, he liked it last time. These pictures are when we first got up to the parade. He was into people watching until Nana and Papa Bass took him closer to the road. From then on out it was clapping, waving, and dancing. He loved it! His favorites were the floats that had live music. He also got really excited about the Legoland float, but really what boy wouldn't? He also did his fair share of flirting with the ladies standing around him. He is such a ham.

People watching with Nana.

He loved the band with loud drums.
