Long Time No See!

Sorry it's been so long, but between moving and being so pregnant I have not been very good at taking pictures or blogging. We did the initial move in and have been slowly (very slowly since I can hardly move) decorating and hanging pictures, ect. It's going to take a while but it will be fun collecting and crafting.

The first few pictures are from when we were still staying with David's parents. We are so thankful that they had the space and were willing to let us stay while we found and closed on our house.

I heard Bo giggling and found him giggling and kissing himself in the mirror.

I've been getting Ava's room together lately (since she'll be here in  26 days or less).  We found a great deal on a crib, which has the parts to be converted into a toddler bed, and mattress at a garage sale and I've been having fun crafting things to decorate the walls. Originally I was going to repaint the walls white and gray, but when I got some of Bo's old decorations out that I was going to reuse, the paint colors worked so well I'm keeping it the same. It's hard to tell in the pictures, but it's a very pale pink on top and brown on bottom.

My first craft for her room was repurposing an old mirror that I found in the leftover stuff from our church's garage sale. I took the mirror out and spray painted it a berry pink. I then found a wooden letter A and mod podged some scrapbook paper on it. Here are the before and afters.
Here is the frame before, minus the mirror.
All painted and hung above the crib.

While mod podging the letter A, I also mod podged some small letter o's with scrapbook paper to create some closet organizers. They hang on the clothing bar and separate the clothes into sizes. I wish I would have used larger stickers for the size numbers, but oh well. I made them up to 18 months.

I have a frame that I was going to turn into a bow holder but I would need to spray paint it, cover the back, put ribbon on it, ect. I'm running out of time so I'm keeping the frame for a jewelry holder for me later. I found some black metal letters at Hobby Lobby and just attached some ribbon onto them to clip all of Ava's bows and flowers. I also found some cast iron bird hangers at Hobby Lobby for 50% off to hang headbands. I love the way it turned out and I still have more space for more bows!

Just with a few clips and headbands.
Full - still have some space left though! I need some bows!

Close up of the bird hangers - love them!
Here are some other pics of her room decorations. It's coming together! Now we just need a dresser!

I was able to reuse the tree wall decal from Bo's room. The dresser will go here.

More decorations I was able to reuse.

Bo's cowboy room is coming along but that'll be for another post!

It's Been Awhile!

I've totally put off writing any posts, but for good reason! We've had a VERY busy month and last few weeks. Just to catch you up.... We sold our house (yippee!), had a closing date of only 3 weeks (yikes!), moved out of our house and into David's parent's basement, have looked at over 40 houses, finally found one we love and close on it the 26th of July and move in the next day! Busy but exciting! Not to mention a special little someone who arrives in 10 weeks. Talk about time flying!

The first batch of pictures is before we moved. We had been at the doctors office for almost three hours and he did such a good job that he got his very own peanut butter ice cream sundae.
"Can I have the ice cream?"

"Still waiting. Can I have it now?"

"Mmmm, finally!"

"Forget the spoon!"

"I get to use the spoon? Cool!"

"Drip it right in."

"Brrrrr"

"Yum! Ice cream soup!"

I've been wanting to take Bo to Deanna Rose Farmstead ever since Jake and Katie Manthe took Naomi there and they got to see baby goats. I've had a thing for baby goats since I was very little and was sure Bo would love them too. Recently it's been too hot to go so the first break in the weather and we were there! David had to work (although he did get to stop by for about an hour) but my mom and sister Crystal went with us.

We first saw the chickens - as you can see by the picture, Bo is not a fan.

Next we checked out the barn and saw two baby calves, some bunnies, and the momma cow. Bo and my mom and looking at the cow. Both seem a little unsure!

Daddy showed up just in time to feed the baby goats. Bo was more interested in the bottle of milk than he was with the goats.

He didn't want to pet them and I think he was a little jealous that they were getting that bottle.

We went back to the barn with daddy (we didn't realize until later there was a whole other side to this place). Again Bo didn't want to pet the calves.....

.....BUT he did want to pet the gigantic momma cow. Go figure!

Daddy had to head back to work before we found the other side to the farm. We saw piglets, bobcats, buffalo, eagles, owls, more goats, and some really friendly prairie dogs. Out of all of those animals the only things Bo were interested in was the quail. Here he is sneaking up and trying to pet one.
He almost got him.

The weather was great, especially compared to what is has been, but I think another trip back in the fall is definitely in order.

Pudding!

Bo's first time eating pudding - and all by himself! I don't think much made it down, but he had a fun time trying to eat it.

Yum!
This is good mom!
Ornery look

This is my favorite picture, except that he looks too big!

A Day in the Pool and a Sister!

A few weeks ago I bought a small plastic pool (best $8 spent ever) for Bo to play in on our deck. He LOVES taking baths so I figured he would like a pool too. I was right. The pool is the right height that he can get in and out of it by himself, which he does a lot. He loves to splash around and play with his toys. His favorite pool toy by far is a giant plastic cup.

We took him swimming last summer, but he was so little that he got cold really fast and him in the pool lasted about 5-10 mins. This year has been another story. That water may be cold, but he's still going to get in! If the water is cold he kind of squats in the water awhile to get used to it before sitting down. He also thinks it's very funny when the dogs drink out of his pool and even funnier when they stand still long enough for him to splash them.

Trying to get out a new way - feet first.

"What? I'm just standing in my pool!"
Letting the water fall on his hands.
The famous muscles.
To the other side.
Making sure everyone see's how strong.

Just a side note on the last 3 pictures. We didn't ask Bo to show his muscles. He just wanted to show us how strong he is. He has started doing this at restaurants too to get peoples attention. He will show them muscles until they notice him and say something about it.

If you haven't heard we found out that we are having a girl! After picking my jaw up off the floor (thought for sure I was having a boy) we are super excited. The crazy garage sale-ing has commenced.
